I realized its been over 4 months since I last posted...crazy. Work has been ridiculous...I'm starting to hate it. I mean I like actually doing things with my day, but I hate that the days don't end at 5 and I'm generally working late. I don't plan on being in this job forever, I don't think its healthy...and isnt the reason I went to school so I didn't have to work my ass of for the rest of my life? Oh well. I'll try to keep updating...good god 4 months is a long time...

Anyone else in aw that Steve Irwin was killed filming a tv show?
I still can't believe it after hearing about it yesterday. So weird, they said that he actually pulled the barb out of his chest before he went into arrest. RIP Crocodile Hunter.

So, we finally found a new place...It's funny that we didn't get any of the places previously mentioned. I feel pretty good about it though. Its not closer to Nick's work, which is one of the things we were going for, but it is definitely nicer and bigger than what we have now. It is in Schaumburg, so we can officially be a yups ;) The place is called Lincoln Meadows and we move in June 25th. The only problem is that it is more expensive which means we may be putting our trip to the West Coast in July on hold. We'll survive though.
Well I'm headed out to New York in a week for another 3 weeks of training, I'm not planning on coming home so that's going to be a long time away from home, but Frank's going to be out there then too, so it should be good fun.
Another night of good TV to look foreward to tonight!!!
Happy Sunday!

Two things about food in this post. A Jimmy Johns just opened on Elmhurst, just down the street, I'm enjoying the usual Pepe right now, its so yummy!!! I missed being so close to Jimmy Johns when we moved here, and now there is one, and we'll be moving again in July...so I'll have to eat as much as I can before then.
Second thing, why haven't I been taking advantage of the McDonalds Drive Thrus in the overpass Oasis stops? Seriously, I got off the highway to get lunch, five minutes later I was back on the highway, enjoying my quarter pounder with cheese. mmmmmm.
What is up with the price of gas? Now I'm not really complaining, because I don't really pay for it, but I filled up my tank this morning, and it cost $65. How crazy is that crap?
Well thats all thats on my mind right now, tomorrow I have the day off, which I'm so looking foreward to sleeping in guilt free!!! Happy Friday!!!!!

So we went to Rock Island this weekend for the holiday and for my dad's birthday. Had a family thing at lunch on Saturday, it was fun, and then we went to run some errands with Angie and Jen in Jen's birthday present, the convertable :)
Dinner was with Angie, Dorothy, Jen, Jane, Nick and I. After dinner we went to explore Pat's (Jen's mom) fiance's house and pool :) After that we drove around to some bars for drinks. Let me tell you it was a funny funny night, I love those girls...I think Nick had a little bad time when the conversation took a weird turn at the bar later. But I had a great time, I could hang out with those girls all the time.
So fun weekend, been hardly working this week, Monday I spent 5 hours working on an instrument...I was so sore all day yesterday cause I had to work on the back, but there wasn't enough room on the counter to turn it around, so I basically I sat on the counter next to the instrument leaning back behind the instrument all day. Yesterday I had 3 potential calls, all fell through, so I got up at 6am, and then didn't go anywhere all day. Today I worked on a sales rep's demo instrument to get it up and running.
So fun times, more work tomorrow, but I have Friday off!! Yay. I originally took it off to take the FE on Saturday, but I never got around to signing up for the test, I paid the state to register, but never registerd with the test administrators...oh well, just have to do it in the fall.
Well thats all for now.

So Nick and I have been shopping around for a new apartment and we finally settled on two, which we turned in applications and fees on saturday so that we can be put on the lists. Both places have positives and negatives that basically equal each other out, so pretty much it'll come down to what has availability in July. So we're interested in the Pebble Beach floorplan at AMLI-Chevy Chase and the G Plan or J Plan at Woodland Creek.
So the most exciting thing for me is that both apartments allow dogs, so after we move in July, and after we get settled in, I'm going to look for a puppy/dog. I'm so excited that I will finally get a dog. I'm definitely going to look at shelters and rescue orginizations before I decide to get a pure bred. If I can't find a dog from a shelter we are leaning towards a Pug or a Boston Terrier. Definitely something small, and Nick likes short hair dogs, even though they shed...oh well, I don't have a whole lot of preference, anyone who knows me, knows I love all types of dogs, so breed isn't the most important thing to me.
We're headed to Rock Island for the weekend, my brother is going to be home, so fun for all. We have a dinner date with Angie and Dorothy on Saturday, so that will be cool. Plus my dad's surgery went well, and I'll get to see him so yay!!
It finally warmed up for a bit, I like the warm weather!!!

So...I haven't posted in almost 3 months...I guess I died for that time.
To sum up the 3 months: worked minimally, went to some trainings, ate lots of pizza, slept a lot, and watched a lot of TV.
Oh yeah, I turned 23.
I know 23 is really still quite young, but I'm still in denial about the whole growing up thing. In my mind I'm still this 18 year old who doesn't have a real life yet. I still can't beleive that I have a degree, and that I live on my own and support myself with a paycheck from a real job. And I sometimes wonder if I'll ever get to the point where I feel like an adult. Anyway, I guess when the whole marriage thing and kid thing happens then I'll feel more "grown up"
Another thing on my mind lately...my dad has surgery this Friday, and I got this gene from him that makes me over-worry, so if you could think of him for me on Friday and hope that everything goes smoothly.
So Nick and I are apartment hunting. Our lease ends in July, and we want to move to a better place, closer to Nick's work. The biggest plus, we're trying to get a place that allows dogs!! I'm so excited that this is a possibility within the next 4 to 5 months!!!
well thats all for now, I'm not planning on dying again, so I'll post again soon.
